For this edition, there will also be three simultaneous screenings, offering European filmgoers the opportunity to discuss the pictures with their directors. All of them will take place in Brussels’ Bozar, from where they will be streamed live to every participating cinema in Europe. Mila Turajlić will present The Other Side of Everything on 6 November, Benedikt Erlingsson will introduce Woman at War on 7 November, and Wolfgang Fischer will do likewise with Styx on 8 November. Everyone will be able to watch the debate after the screening and join in with it through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

The LUX Audience Mention has therefore got under way with the first screenings – every audience member can vote for their favourite film until 31 January, and they will thus have the chance to take part in a contest to win a trip to the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival next July to personally announce the winner of the prize.

The films have also been available for MEPs to watch since Monday 15 October. The voting period officially opened with the screening of the movies in the Yehudi Menuhin space at the European Parliament. They can be viewed from 15-19 October, and then from 5-9 November. MEPs are invited to cast their votes until 13 November, one day before the LUX Prize ceremony (14 November) in the Plenary Chamber in Strasbourg, where the award will be handed out by President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani.
