Six projects have been accepted during the fourth 2018 session of the CNC’s second advance on receipts committee. Standing out among them is C’est extra, which will be the 15th feature by Guillaume Nicloux and will be produced by Les Films du Worso, a firm with which the filmmaker is thus continuing his fruitful partnership. Extremely popular last May on the Croisette, in the Directors’ Fortnight, with To the Ends of the World [+leggi anche:

 (set to be released in France on 5 December 2018), Nicloux took part in the official competition at Berlin in 2013 with The Nun [+leggi anche:

. He also partook in the Berlinale Forum with The Kidnapping of Michel Houellebecq [+leggi anche:

 in 2016. Interestingly, earlier this year he shot Il était une seconde fois, a four-episode mini-series staged by Unité de Production for Arte, with Gaspard Ulliel and Freya Mavor among the cast, which will be aired next year.

The CNC will also be supporting Nocturne by Italian documentarian Gianfranco Rosi (produced on the French side by Les Films d’Ici – see the news), which follows on the heels of his Golden Lion win at Venice in 2013 with Sacro GRA [+leggi anche:

. Rosi also has the superb El Sicario, Room 164 [+leggi anche:

Another advance on receipts has been granted to Pingouin et goélands et leurs 300 petits by Michel Leclerc, which will be produced by Agat Films and will be the seventh feature by the filmmaker who turned heads with The Names of Love [+leggi anche:

 (nominated for the César Award for Best Actor in 2016) and will soon do likewise with La Lutte des classes (see the article – set to come out in France on 3 April 2019).

Also standing out among the selected projects is Cette musique ne joue pour personne by Samuel Benchetrit, production duties on which will be handled by Single Man Productions. This will be the seventh feature by the director, who has titles such as Janis & John (2003), I Always Wanted to Be a Gangster [+leggi anche:

Lastly, the second committee selected Les dévorants, the second feature-length project by Naël Marandin, following She Walks [+leggi anche:

As for the CNC’s first advance on receipts committee, three feature-debut projects have been chosen: L’Horizon by Émilie Carpentier (Elzévir Films), Les Magnétiques by Vincent Cardona (Easy Tiger together with SRAB Films) and Les Versants by Guillaume Renusson (Les Films Velvet).
