The Greek Film Centre (GFC) has announced its latest round of funding pre-approvals for 2018, which cover 37 projects spread across seven different programmes. The support granted totals over €1 million.

More precisely, four projects will be jointly supported by the GFC and France’s Centre National du Cinéma (CNC) under the convention for Greek-French cinematic co-productions (Aide à la Coproduction d’Œuvres Cinématographiques Franco-Grecques). The Greek-French fund has a total budget of €450,000: the CNC finances €300,000, and the remaining €150,000 are provided by the Greek side.

Three projects have been selected from among the seven submitted for the New Directors programme (intended for first or second feature films), with the amount of support granted totalling €420,000. The selected projects are: Night by Cristo Petrou (Argonauts Productions), Nea Ipiros by Pantelis Pagoulatos (BAD CROWD) and Black Stone by Mario Garefo (Steficon SA). Also, for the Low Budget programme, two projects out of four submitted have been granted €130,000.
