An unmissable event for European animated cinema, the Cartoon Movie co-production forum will set new records at its 21st edition (5 to 7 March 2019 in Bordeaux) with 66 projects in selection (28 in the concept stage, 24 in development, seven in production and seven in sneak preview) from 25 countries, with 900 professionals due to attend (including 265 buyers).
As is often the case, the French animation industry dominates the line-up with 22 projects, followed by Germany with eight, the Netherlands with six (the country is also being honoured at this year’s edition of Cartoon Movie), Spain and Ireland with four each, Italy, Belgium and the United Kingdom with three each and Denmark, Romania and Latvia with two each. As for the topics, family comedies remain largely in the majority (67%), while a target audience of young adults/adults represents 20% of the overall target audience.
