Since 6 April, filmmaker Balázs Lóth, who gained recognition for his short films (It's No Fairy Tale and Epilogue) and who recently dipped his toe into the world of TV series, is now filming his first fiction feature film: Pesti Balhé. Among the cast are Béla Mészáros (topping the bill for BÚÉK and soon to be seen in Mimi), Andrea Petrik (Kincsem – Bet on Revenge [+leggi anche:

Written by Balázs Lóth, Márk Kiss-Szabó and Ákos Inotay, the story centres on a group of six childhood friends who have reunited in their thirties and who are trying to find - but are actually losing - their way through life. This is the case for world-renowned but unhappy architect Marcell, lousy painter Vinsz, eternal teenager Alexa, overcautious veterinarian Guszti, one-of-a-kind bon viveur Jet, and Adrián, a freelance Hamlet for hire in the old folks' clubs. None of them have made it big. Their reunion comes to a fatal and tragic end after an accident; however, the unexpected death pulls the disintegrating group together once again. They join forces and decide to make their friend's biggest dream come true: they will sneak the man's unmistakably unique painting into an auction organised by his father, a famous art dealer, much to the excitement of everyone in Budapest. And so begins the craziest adventure of their lives, but carrying out the reverse robbery seems far too complex, even with the help of a thief fresh out of prison…
Produced by Peter Fülöp for FP Films, and by Barnabás Hutlassa for Royal Budapest, Pesti Balhé will be shot in Budapest over a 36 day period, ending 18 June, with Balázs István Balázs in charge of cinematography. The title was supported during the production phase by the Hungarian National Film Fund who will also be in charge of international sales through HNFF World Sales. It will be distributed in Hungary courtesy of Intercom.
To recap, FP Films was recently recognised for Deva [+leggi anche:
