With the International Competition and European Documentary Competition already announced (see the news), the OIFF has also confirmed its line-up for the National Competition, in which five features and ten shorts will be vying for awards. In the section for features, all of which are by first-time directors, two will enjoy their world premieres: Cherkasy by Tymur Yashchenko and Eastman by Andy Iva. In collaboration with Séries Mania and the TV channel Ukraine, the Series! section will present the first two episodes of each of five upcoming TV series to the OIFF audience: Markuss by Anton Azarov (Ukraine/Latvia), Arde Madrid by Paco León and Anna R Costa (Spain), The Pleasure Principle by Dariusz Jablonski (Poland/Ukraine/Czech Republic), Mytho by Fabrice Gobert (France), and The Virtues by Shane Meadows and Jack Thorne (UK).

In addition, Odesa will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Odesa Film Studio, where legendary films that helped shape Ukrainian cinema will be showcased in a special programme entitled “Hollywood by the Black Sea”, organised by the National Oleksandr Dovzhenko Film Centre.
