This year in its 72^nd edition, the Locarno Film Festival is offering film enthusiasts from all over the world the opportunity to see the films from the Filmmakers of the Present section free of charge for the very first time. The films are screening here from 9 ​to 31 August. Only 400 free tickets are available per film on a first-come-first-served basis. Country availability may vary. 

Users will have one-time access to each film, and the "virtual screening", held in partnership with Cineuropa, will be available on the Festival Scope website or on an iPad with the Festival Scope Player. At the end of each screening, the users will be asked to vote for the films to win the Cinelab Award, a prize that comes with €22,000 in post-production services, courtesy of the Cinelab of Bucharest.
