The story, written by Frédéric Videau (who co-penned Burning Ghost [+leggi anche:

, among other movies), depicts a day and a night in the life of cops on the beat in Toulouse and its suburbs. We follow the every step of these women and men, aged between 20 and 60 years old, and are not spared a single one of their thoughts or actions. This immersion in the heart of police officers’ life on the street and the destitution they come into contact with on a daily basis paints a stark portrait of French society today, which we are still turning a blind eye to…

Produced by Philipe Liégeois for Paris-based outfit Bus Films (which already has Ogres [+leggi anche:

under its belt), Cop Goes Missinghas been pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, and can boast support from the Occitanie and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur regions, where the shoot will take place from 9 December until early February 2020. The French distribution and international sales will be handled by Pyramide.

Another of the CNC’s advance on receipts went to Connemera by Isild Le Besco, which (with a screenplay written by the director and Steven Mitz, together with Raphaëlle Desplechin) will tell the story of a mother’s reunion with her children in Ireland. This will be the fifth feature by the helmer, following Half-Price (2004), Charly [+leggi anche:

A further advance on receipts goes to Le bonheur est pour demain, the third feature-length directorial effort by Brigitte Sy, following Free Hands [+leggi anche:

(2015). The project, which has been co-written by the filmmaker and Christine Dory, will be staged by Fechner Films.

Lastly, a documentary feature has secured an advance on receipts as well – namely, L’homme aux mille visages by Sonia Kronlund, who set the Directors’ Fortnight on fire in 2017 with The Prince of Nothingwood [+leggi anche:
