Written by the director and adapted from Karine Tuil’s eponymous novel, the script centres on a young man accused of having raped a young woman. Who is he, and who is she? Is he guilty or innocent? Is she a victim, or does she just seek revenge, as the accused argues? Is there only one version of the truth? The Accusation questions our contemporary reality, takes apart the merciless mechanics of the judicial machine and confronts us with our own fears.

Produced by Olivier Delbosc for Curiosa Films and by Yvan Attal for Films Sous Influence, The Accusation is co-produced by France 2 Cinéma and Gaumont (which will be handling the film’s distribution in French cinemas on 24 November 2021 and which is also handling international sales). Filming is taking place in Paris until 7 November.
