Every year, the Groupe Ouest’s Annual Selection lends its support to eight fiction projects (either first, second or third feature film, both animated and live action) proposed by Francophone screenwriters and filmmakers. The quality of the scheme has been widely demonstrated, as notably testified by the presence of the project Angel by Belgium’s Lukas Dhont and that of Paris 8 by Daouda Coulibaly within the scheme’s 2020 selection (read our article), not to mention the inclusion in previous years of Maïmouna Doucouré’s Cuties [+leggi anche:

scheda film] by Houda Benyamina (who has since returned to Groupe Ouest in the company of her co-screenwriter Romain Compingt for their second feature film, which is currently in pre-production), without forgetting László Nemes, Pablo Agüero, Leyla Bouzid and Claude Barras, to name a few.

Owing, however, to the highly unique nature of the year 2020 on account of the health crisis, and given that the call for projects for 2021’s Annual Selection (see here) is open until 23 November, Groupe Ouest helmers Antoine Le Bos and Charlotte Le Vallégan have decided to reveal the details of their most recent session so as to provide those applying for next year’s residency with as clear an overview as possible.

They are, therefore, inviting all interested professionals to attend a Zoom call, scheduled to unfold on Tuesday 3 November at 5pm. The meeting will involve a presentation of the writing residency, and a Q&A session.
