O’Brother Distribution, a company created in 2009 by Versus Production by brothers Jacques-Henri and Olivier Bronckart, aims to propulse audacious and impactful films on the Belgian (and Benelux) market, with a strong focus on Belgian cinema. Now, production companies  Artémis Productions, Frakas Productions, Tarantula and Gapbusters are joining Versus in the company’s capital.

This new strategic alliance will allow O’Brother to diversify its offer and to propose a larger lineup. Its annual offer will rely on 20 to 25 films coming from both majority and minority Belgian productions and co-productions as well as from acquisitions made on the international markets.

Since the beginning, O’Brother has of course distributed most of the films produced by Versus Production (such as the films of Bouli Lanners), but also such films as Sink or Swim [+leggi anche:

The editorialisation of the catalogue will remain in the hands of O’Brother and each producer will maintain the right to decide to which distributor they will entrust the marketing of their titles.

By joining forces with these four producers who occupy a major position in the production sector in French-speaking Belgium, O’Brother guarantees it can assert its role as a major distributor for Belgian cinema in the flat country.

Even if each producer remains free to work with other partners, we will note that, for instance, Frakas produces the films of Fabrice du Welz, or some promising Belgian first features, such as Sans Soleil [+leggi anche:

) while Artémis Productions is producing the works of François Damiens or the upcoming films from Marc Zinga and Jérémie Renier. As for Gapbusters, its wide international coproduction catalogue could also contribute to reinforcing O’Brother’s position on the Benelux market.
