There were many things to celebrate at the 20th edition of the Transilvania International Film Festival (23 July-1 August, Cluj-Napoca), which kicked off with a symbolic simultaneous gala in 20 Romanian towns and a campaign dubbed #impreunaprinfilm (lit. “#togetherthroughcinema”).

At the awards gala, the jury chaired by Mexican screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga handed the Transilvania Trophy, the festival’s top award, to Philipp Yuriyev’s The Whaler Boy [+leggi anche:

(Romania), received two highly coveted accolades at the gala, the Best Director Award and the Audience Award, the latter being given to the most popular film out of the 12 competing titles, based on the votes cast by the audience.
