Dutch filmmaker Saskia Diesing’s new film, a war drama entitled Lost Transport, is now in post-production. Her first feature, Nena [+leggi anche:

, was selected for the Generation 14+ strand of the Berlinale, gained a Special Jury Mention and was nominated for several Golden Calves in 2015. Her sophomore film, Dorst, played at Rotterdam in 2018.

Her third feature, penned with Esther Gerritsen (Dorst, Nena), is based on a true story and follows a train leaving the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp with 2,500 Jewish former prisoners aboard. The train comes to a stop near a German village which is in the path of advancing Russian troops, where three women are forced to pool their resources to survive. The film’s main cast includes Hanna van Vliet, Eugénie Anselin and Anna Bachmann.

This week, Screen International reported that Munich-based sales agent Global Screen had picked up the feature’s world rights. The outfit’s SVP Alice Buquoy confirmed that her team will be presenting first footage and stills at the American Film Market.

Lost Transport is a co-production led by Hanneke Niens and Hans De Wolf for Dutch outfit KeyFilm, with Luxembourg’s Amour Fou [+leggi anche:

The film received support from the Netherlands Film Fund, the Netherlands Film Production Incentive, CoBO, Film Fund Luxembourg, Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, nordmedia, DFFF and Roba Music Publishing. September Film is in charge of distribution in the Benelux countries.
