Written by the director, the script is set in Algiers where Houria, a young and talented dancer in the making, is violently attacked by a former terrorist and ends up in hospital. Her dreams of a dancing career vanish. She must then accept and love her new body. Surrounded by a community of women, Houria will find a new meaning to her life by including dancing in the reconstruction and sublimating of wounded bodies…

Produced by Xavier Gens and Grégoire Gensollen for The Ink Connection and by Patrick André for High Sea Production, Houria is co-produced by France 2 Cinéma and Belgian company Scope Pictures. Pre-bought by France Télévisions, Canal+ and Ciné+, the feature film will be distributed in France by Le Pacte, with international sales handled by Wild Bunch International.
