The main cast includes John Rhys-Davies, Richard Brake, Elena Delia, Michael Yare, Peter Coonan, David Pearse, Brian Fortune, Tristan Heanue, Matthew O’Brien and Claire Loy.

The Gates is being produced by Paul Thompstone, Mike Jones and John Lerchen for Studio Atlantic (Ireland), along with Garret and Paige Smith of Mad Honey Productions (USA). Amcomri Productions (Canada) will also produce and co-finance the project. The feature is expected to be ready in time for this year’s Marché du Film. 101 Films International is in charge of its global sales.

Commenting on the acquisition, 101 Films International’s CEO Andy Lyon said: “I would like to thank Paul [Thompstone] for allowing us to be involved with this amazing project. From the moment we were pitched the movie we absolutely loved it, it's incredibly commercial and joins a significant slate of other movies we are backing this year.  It’s also great to be able to support an Irish production given our recent acquisition of Silentpoint, rebranded Amcomri Productions, as we further increase our global footprint.”
