Handed out at the end of the Hungarian Motion Picture Festival, the Hungarian Motion Picture Awards, bestowed upon the best Hungarian productions of the past year, have crowned Wild Roots [+leggi anche:

This first feature film by Hajni Kis walked away with the title of Best Hungarian Film, as well as scooping Best First Film and Best Screenplay (as penned by the director alongside Fanni Szántó). Produced by Julia Berkes on behalf of Proton Cinema, co-produced by Slovakia’s MPhilms and sold by Germany’s m-appeal, Wild Roots was unveiled last summer in Karlovy Vary’s East of the West competition.
Equally noteworthy on the winners’ list is Gabriella Hámori, who nabbed no less than two prizes in the form of the award for Best Actress, thanks to her performance in As Far as I Know [+leggi anche:

scheda film] by Nándor Lőrincz and Bálint Nagy - which was presented within the First Films Competition in Tallin’s Black Nights Festival - and that of Best Supporting Role for her part in Péter Fazakas’ The Game [+leggi anche:

scheda film] which has just arrived in Hungarian cinemas. The Game racked up 3 trophies in total, earning János Kulka the accolade of Best Actor and Gábor Balázs victory in sound.
Last but not least, five prizes were won by Ildikó Enyedi’s The Story of My Wife [+leggi anche:
