by Andreas Dresen (twice rewarded in the 2022 Berlinale by way of the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay and another for Best First Role) opening the 27th German Film Festival, which will unspool until 16 October in Paris’s Arlequin cinema. Organised by German Films in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut, the event will offer up a selection of the very best in German film production, whether fiction films, documentaries, feature films or shorts.

Nine short films will also be treated to Special Screenings, including this year’s best films from German film schools (Next Generation) and the winners of the category for best short films lasting less than five minutes (Short Tiger Award).
