scheda film] (2016), the Swiss filmmaker has also worked for the small screen with Sirius (the second chapter in the Ondes de choc trilogy), four episodes of the show Les Revenants, six of Spiral and three of Criminal.

scheda film]) and Frédéric Mermoud, the screenplay (finalist of the Junior Best Screenplay award in 2017) centres on Sophie, a brilliant student. Pushed by her maths teacher, she leaves the family farm to try a science preparatory school. Between new encounters, defiance, failures and fierce competition, Sophie realises that integrating Polytechnique represents more than a competition but a true challenge of social climbing. Will she succeed?

Produced by Véronique Zerdoun for Parisian outfit Tabo Tabo Films, The Path of Excellence is co-produced by Swiss company Bande à part Films, Leto Films and by Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Cinéma. Pre-bought by Canal+, Ciné+ and RTS, the feature also benefits from the support of Sofica Cofimage, Cineventure and Indéfilms, but also that of the OFC and Cineforom. The 28 shooting days will take place until 10 November in Lyon and its surroundings (notably in Thizy les Bourgs) with Tristan Tortuyaux as director of photography. French distribution and international sales are handled by Pyramide.
