MIDPOINT Series Launch, the only residential, project-based training programme targeting its content at, and tailoring it for, creative teams of emerging professionals coming primarily from Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the Baltic countries and the wider Mediterranean area, has opened its call for projects. The deadline is set for 8 January.
Nine selected teams of writers, producers and, if attached, directors will be split into three groups and work under the guidance of internationally renowned and experienced tutors, in close collaboration with development-executive participants.
Through the all-encompassing programme, the teams will be developing their drama-series projects, creating a series concept, writing a pilot script, learning to create marketing and financing models, and exploring the television and series industry landscape. It will culminate in a pitching session at Tallinn Black Nights' Baltic Event.
The programme will start in March with an online project pre-training session and a physical workshop in the Czech Republic. Next, the participants will benefit from online consultations from April until June, when another workshop will take place in the Czech Republic. Finally, before the session in Tallinn in November, they will have another round of online consultations starting in July.
The participation fee of €1,800 includes accommodation, board and tuition during the residential workshops. To learn more about the programme and to access the application form, please click here, and you can consult the FAQ section for answers to most questions.
