As in 2015 and 2021, the French international sales agent Playtime is wielding two contenders for the Palme d’Or in a line-up which it wholly intends to bring to fruition at the Marché du Film (running 16 – 24 May), unspooling within the 76th Cannes Film Festival.

by the Turkish maestro Nuri Bilge Ceylan, who’ll be taking up position in competition for the 7th time in Cannes, where he previously scooped the 2014 Palme d’Or, the 2003 and 2011 Grand Prizes, and the 2008 Best Director Award). The movie is produced by Turkey’s NBC Film, France’s Memento Production, Playtime and Arte France Cinéma, Germany’s Komplizen Film, and Sweden’s Second Land and Film i Väst.
