The Adapta Book Madrid Festival is a meeting point for the publishing, theatre and film industries to promote young local authors and scriptwriters. It takes place from 13 to 16 November in different locations around the Spanish capital and during its second edition features conferences, screenings, case study exhibitions, laboratories and a new section focused on the playwriting industry. The event will enable professionals to connect around literary and theatrical adaptations to different formats such as feature films, fiction series and new digital content, providing access and contact opportunities for story creator. It will also promote the city of Madrid as a leader in developing adaptations that contribute to audiovisual production.

, with the participation of its director and screenwriter Félix Viscarret and David Muñoz, co-screenwriter of the film, where they will share their experience of the process of adapting the film, based on the novel Desde la sombra, by Juan José Millás. On 15 November, at the Palacio Longoria, SGAE's headquarters, the activity Adapta tu pitch will take place, aimed at the authors selected to participate in the pitching sessions, a masterclass given by Annabelle Aramburu, coordinator of the Industry Area of the Malaga Festival, MAFIZ.

On Thursday 16 November, in addition to the Pitch a Escena and Pitch the Book sessions, new conferences and case studies will be held and the event will close with meetings between participants and invited production companies and agents from the film and audiovisual industry.  Pitch a Escena will feature six plays premiered and written by SGAE members: Arde ya la yedra, a drama by Francisco Javier Suarez Lema; Clic (Cuando todo cambia), a drama by Itziar Pascual and Amaranta Osorio; Gólosa, a comedy by Ángel Velasco; Hasta Palomares, also a comedy, by Adrián Perea; Inquilino (Numancia 9, 2ºA), a social comedy by Paco Gámez; and La omisión del si bemol tres, a horror comedy written by Denise Despeyroux.

Ten literary works, written by local authors under 35 years, will participate in the Pitch the Book event, selected in a public call for entries, to promote emerging talents who base their writing on experimentation and approach to new formats and styles, creating imaginaries and addressing diverse, new and inclusive themes.

The books selected in this section are: Antes de que caiga el telón (Editorial Plataforma Neo), a romance by Gema Cantos; Gazania (Roomie Ediciones), a thriller by Sofía ParraImperio (TBR Editorial), a dystopia by Iria G. Parente and Selene M. Pascual; La noche que perdí a La Chica del Pop (Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial), young adult novel by Adriano Moreno Abellán; Leo y Robert. Antes de tiempo (Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial), a romantic comedy by Marcos Bueno; Llévame a cualquier lugar (Plataforma Neo), a romance by Alice Kellen; Por verte sonreír (self-published), a romantic novel by Esmeralda Romero; Solo queda el verano (Editorial Egales), an LGBTI romantic comedy by Alex Ygoa; Tierra yerma (Círculo Rojo), a dramatic thriller by Paulo García Conde; and Tres días de enero (Ediciones Versátil), a romantic novel by Noelia Hontoria.
