Tras el verano is Yolanda Centeno's feature directorial debut. The film explores themes such as reconstituted families and co-parenting while living with the children of your partner, not without conflict, but which creates personal bonds: relationships and feelings that, in the event of a subsequent separation, can disappear forever. With a screenplay by the filmmaker and Jesús Luque (who together wrote the plot for her short film Imposible decirte adiós, the starting point of this feature film), the film was shot this autumn in Andalusia and stars Alexandra Jiménez (recently seen in Under Therapy [+leggi anche:

Paula and Raúl, who live with Dani, a six-year-old boy, could be just another couple... They could be, except that the boy is not Paula's son, and Paula faces the everyday challenge of proving that she deserves the title of mother. This conflict, along with the couple's separation and, as a result, the possibility that Paula might never see Dani again, sets up a story that puts the pain of a child at the heart of it.

"I was interested in this story from a personal point of view, as I find myself in a similar family situation to that of the protagonist," says the director. "As a creator, I started to reflect on the difficult situation faced by many women and men who find themselves with a partner who already has children from a previous relationship. The film explores feelings that I think many people will identify with and about goodbyes that leave wounds that are impossible to heal."

A filmmaker with experience in fiction and advertising, who studied at the New York Film Academy, Yolanda Centeno also holds a Master of Fine Arts in Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy-Universal Studio Campus in Los Angeles, and won the RTVA Award for best Andalusian short film with Nostalgia, Zugzwang and Imposible decirte adiós.

Tras el verano is produced by Tay Sánchez (Harry), Marta Velasco and Gonzalo Bendala (Áralan Films), with the associated production of La Goota Entertainment, and was one of the projects selected in the first call of Cima Impulsa. It has the participation of RTVE and Canal Sur, the support of the Community of Madrid, as well as the ICAA and the AAIICC of the Junta de Andalucía. It will be distributed in Spain by Alfa Pictures and its international sales will be managed by Latido Films.
