His new feature film is based on the novel of the same name by Juan Bolea, finalist for the Hammett Prize at the Semana Negra in Gijón, which "tells the mysteries of human behaviour, sometimes lacking in reasoning, sometimes reflecting their frustrations and sometimes with tendencies that seem to be dominated by the paranormal. These are already very important incentives to bring us to make a film that is as interesting as it is exciting, thanks to the world in which it will immerse us, so disturbing, so Hitchcockian, master of the psychological thriller," states one of its production companies, Sunrise Pictures.

The film stars Blanca Suárez (revelation of The Skin I Live In [+leggi anche:

Written by Rafa Calatayud with a puzzle structure to be solved by the viewer, the film depicts how Eva (played by Blanca Suárez) lives a happy moment with a new partner, Nazario (played by Eduardo Noriega), a successful writer and his daughter, Alicia (Claudia Mora), a teenager with whom she hopes to hit it off; it seems that she finally has that family that will allow her to forget her past. However, it won't be so easy. The horror she suffered with José, her ex-husband (Tamar Novas), a possessive and violent policeman, threatens her paradise. There is no point in her hiding in the refuge of childhood, as nothing will be able to protect her. It will be a journey into fear, to a place of terrible consequences that will affect everyone. Because nothing is what it seems and everyone is witness to parallel truths.

Parecido a un asesinato is produced by Sunrise Pictures, Parecido a un asesinato AIE and Telespan 2000 (of the Squirrel group) in association with the Argentinian company Prisma Cine. Ramiro Acero, José Luis Povedano and María Ojeda are its executive producers. And the film has the participation of TVE, Prime Video, À Punt and Aragón TV. The agency Film Factory Entertainment will manage international sales and Vértice 360 will manage distribution in Spain.
