Written by the director in league with Alexandre Smia, the story catapults us into Kabul on 15 August 2021. As American troops get ready to leave the region, the Taliban lay siege to the capital and seize power. Amidst the chaos, commander Mohamed Bida and his men ensure the safety of the French embassy, which is still open. Commander Bida is trapped and decides to negotiate with the Taliban in order to organise a last-ditch rescue convoy with the help of young French-Afghan translator, Eva. Thus begins a race against time to lead the evacuees to the airport and to escape the hell of Kabul before it’s too late… The story is based on Mohamed Bida’s book, 13 jours, 13 nuits dans l’enfer de Kaboul.
13 jours, 13 nuits is produced by Dimitri Rassam on behalf of Chapter 2, in co-production with Pathé and M6 Films. The film is pre-purchased by Canal+, Disney+ and M6. Shot in Morocco with Canada’s Nicolas Bolduc heading up photography (who was nominated for the 2020 and 2024 Césars in his speciality thanks to La Belle époque [+leggi anche:
