The 72nd edition of the San Sebastián International Film Festival, which will take place from 20 to 28 September, has now completed its selection. After completing its New Directors selection (read more) and announcing the parallel sections Horizontes Latinos and Zabaltegi-Tabakalera (read more), it is now time for the Official Selection.

The film chosen for the closing ceremony, which will be screened out of competition, is the new work by Irish director John Crowley. It follows the great success of his BAFTA award-winning Brooklyn [+leggi anche:

, which will have its world premiere in Toronto's Special Presentations section, is a romantic drama that depicts a series of passages in the life of Almut and Tobias, a couple who learn to appreciate every moment of the journey of their love story. Also out of competition, the film festival will host the premiere of Johnny Depp's new film as a director. 27 years after his only work behind the camera, it has been produced in Europe after losing his backing in the US industry due to his problematic position regarding his relationship with his ex-partner Amber Heard. The film, Modi, Three Days on the Wing of Madness, is a biopic about the artist Amedeo Modigliani starring Riccardo Scamarcio, Stephen Graham and Al Pacino.
