The Medimed Doc Market has announced the 70 documentary projects selected for its 2024 edition, which will take place from 17-20 October in Sitges, just outside Barcelona. Celebrating 25 years of facilitating co-production and co-financing, the market continues to draw in emerging and established talents from across the Euro-Mediterranean region, offering a platform for diverse voices and stories. This year, prominent industry decision makers, including those from ARTE, the BBC, Al Jazeera, SVT and Movistar Plus+, will be in attendance to discover these promising projects.
The central Pitching Forum will feature 24 selected projects, encompassing various themes, cultures and narratives. The selected Pitching Forum projects include the following:

This year’s Rough Cut Advisory Meetings, moderated by Iikka Vehkalahti, feature 16 additional projects in a unique setting where filmmakers can refine their cuts with expert guidance. Medimed also facilitates fast-paced networking through 15-minute Speedy Pitch Meetings, featuring 30 projects from 15 countries.
In a new, online session prior to the market, ten early-stage projects will have the chance to attract co-producers from across Europe and the Mediterranean. These projects span various genres and offer a unique opportunity for filmmakers to find like-minded collaborators.
Finally, the Digital Docs Gallery will feature over 300 new titles produced in 2023-24 across 50 countries, accessible to an exclusive group of acquisition executives and sales agents, including representatives from Al Jazeera, RAI, RTVS and ZDF.
Medimed’s 25th anniversary promises a diverse and compelling line-up of projects that continue to reflect the richness and complexity of the Euro-Mediterranean region. The market remains a valuable space for the exchange of ideas and collaboration, as filmmakers and industry professionals gather to celebrate documentary cinema's power and relevance.
