) and Kevin Debonne.

The story, penned by the director himself and his regular writing partner, Gilles Marchand (the duo previously won the César Award for Best Adaptation in 2023 for The Night of the 12th after having been nominated for the César for Best Screenplay in 2001 for Harry, He’s Here to Help and for Best Adaptation in 2020 for Only the Animals), hinges on case file 137, which at first glance appears to be just another case for Stéphanie, an investigator at the IGPN, the French police disciplinary body. At a tense demonstration, a young man is injured by a blast ball, and the circumstances need to be elucidated in order to establish who is responsible. However, Stéphanie will be disconcerted by an unexpected piece of information, and for her, file 137 will turn into something more than a mere number…

Dossier 137 is being produced by Carole Scotta, Caroline Benjo, Barbara Letellier and Simon Arnal for Haut et Court (which is working on a feature by the filmmaker for the third time in a row), and co-produced by France 2 Cinéma. Having been pre-purchased by Canal+, Ciné+ and France Télévisions, the feature also boasts support from the CNC’s advance on receipts, and from the Indéfilms, Cinécap, Cinémage, Cinéventure and Palatine Etoile Soficas. The shoot, which kicked off on 6 October, has been taking place in Saint-Dizier, Paris and the Paris region, with Patrick Ghiringhelli in charge of the cinematography (he was nominated for the César Award in his category in 2023 and 2024 for The Night of the 12th and The Goldman Case [+leggi anche:

). The score will be composed by Olivier Marguerit (also nominated for a César Award in 2023 for The Night of the 12th). The French distribution will be handled by Haut et Court, while the attached international sales agent is being kept under wraps.

As a reminder, Haut et Court currently has Sukkwan Island by Vladimir de Fontenay, the co-productions Nino dans la nuit by Belgium’s Laurent Micheli (see the article) and Yellow Letters by Germany’s Ilke Çatak (see the article), and the Canadian-French animated flick Hola Frida by André Kadi and Karine Vézina (which will go on general release in France on 12 February) in post-production.
