Despite it constituting a 5% fall compared to 2023, the Spanish box office grossed a total of €477 million last year, for ticket sales of 71 million. These are the data published by audience measurement company Comscore, which had access to figures up to 29 December 2024.

The slight drop mentioned above, which occurred after three consecutive years of growth, is likely due to the screenwriters’ and actors’ strike in the US industry, which forced some releases with huge commercial potential to be postponed until 2025. Indeed, as is almost always the case, it was a Hollywood-produced title that grossed the most in Spain in 2024 – namely, Inside Out 2, which raked in a total amount of €45.5 million after its theatrical run, having been seen by almost 7 million people.
