CPH:DOX's flagship financing and co-production event, CPH:FORUM, has announced its line-up of projects across three strands, which will be presented in Copenhagen from 24-27 March, during the 2025 edition of the festival, which takes place from 19-30 March. The selection features 30 documentary projects by 75 directors and producers from 26 countries, spanning early to late development and production.

“In a polarised world fuelled by a 24-hour news cycle and misinformation, it is more important than ever to bring audiences nuanced stories, different perspectives and new voices. The 2025 CPH:FORUM selection is a snapshot of a place in time, and we couldn’t be more honoured that this group of filmmakers has trusted us to present their projects to the world. We hope this edition will be a space for community and dialogue that demonstrates the power of documentary,” says Mara Gourd-Mercado, head of Industry & Training.

The new CPH:ROUGHCUT strand will replace the former CPH:WIP section, and it is inviting five projects at the rough-cut stage aiming to premiere in 2025, and looking for distribution, sales, buyers, festival premieres and other forms of exhibition.

The fourth edition of CHANGE, in collaboration with IMS (International Media Support) and EAVE (European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs), will once again showcase projects from the Eastern Partnership countries: Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.

In addition to the €20,000 Eurimages Innovation Award and the €30,000 Outreach Award, as well as the Rise and Shine Award of €3,000 and the Unifrance/Titrafilm Doc Award of nearly €5,500, the event will introduce the new $25,000 cash Sandbox Films Science Pitch Prize for an outstanding science-documentary project. The €10,000 Al Jazeera Documentary Channel Co-Production Award will go to a project highlighting urgent matters of our times.

The projects will be presented to 200 financiers and industry representatives including those from Netflix, Hulu, HBO Europe, ARTE, ZDF, VPRO, BBC, National Geographic, POV, DR, TIME Studios, Sky Studios, Concordia Studio, Fremantle, Fifth Season, IMAX, Tate Modern, the Museum of the Moving Image, Field of Vision, Impact Partners, the Ford Foundation, the Sundance Institute, the Doc Society, Chicken and Egg Pictures, Catapult and The Whickers.
