The 2025 Robert Awards, held on 2 February at the Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center in Copenhagen, was a celebration of the Danish film and television industry, acknowledging both established artists and emerging talents.
The night was marked by Matters of the Heart dominating the awards, with director Christina Rosendahl’s deeply personal family drama about alcoholism and the toll it takes on loved ones taking home an impressive seven awards. The story follows a middle-class family who, on the surface, lead a happy and perfect life. But behind the facade, they are on the verge of disintegration owing to the father's escalating alcohol consumption.
Matters of the Heart won Best Feature Film, and Best Director and Best Original Script, both for Rosendahl, among other gongs. The Best Leading Role Awards were granted to Lars Ranthe and Viilbjørk Malling Agger for their moving performances, while Stine Stengade received the Award for Best Supporting Actress. Louise McLaughlin snagged the Award for Best Cinematography for the same film.
