TV writing programme Serial Eyes is now accepting applications for its 2025-2026 class. The eight-month, full-time postgraduate course, based in Berlin, aims to train the next generation of European television writers in the art of collaborative writing-room practices.

The programme, which runs from September 2025-May 2026, is designed for experienced professionals in the audiovisual industry. Applicants must demonstrate at least three years of paid experience in writing, directing or producing scripted content, and must have writing credits for at least one produced episode of a serialised format for television or streaming platforms.

While primarily focused on nurturing European talent, Serial Eyes maintains an inclusive approach by reserving up to three spots annually for applicants from outside Europe. The programme requires participants to be fluent in English and commit to full-time attendance in Berlin, where they will engage in workshops, lectures and study trips.

The €4,500 fee covers comprehensive training, including travel and accommodation for two study trips, a writers' retreat in Brandenburg and accreditation for the Séries Mania Festival in Lille (March 2026). In an effort to support diverse voices in the industry, Serial Eyes offers three tuition waivers each year, funded through MEDIA support, based on applicants' potential, financial circumstances and their local film-industry context.

Applications opened on 12 December 2024 and will close on 3 March 2025, at 1:00 PM. Shortlisted candidates will participate in interviews in late April 2025, following a writing assignment. Final selections will be announced in mid-May.
