Actor, filmmaker and showman Paco León is currently directing his new film Aída y Vuelta, which is being shot in Madrid and on the original set where the series Aída, one of the most successful in Spanish television in recent decades, was conceived.

León and Fer Pérez, the series' scriptwriter, have written the script for the feature film. scheda film], which was presented out of competition at San Sebastián Film Festival, did not achieve the same success. Now, he directs this film, reuniting his television family, and it is already set to receive a positive response.

Launched in 2005 on the Telecinco channel as the first spin-off of a drama (7 Vidas) produced in Spain, the series Aída quickly became a television phenomenon. More than 6.8 million viewers (36% share) watched the first episode and it maintained an average share of 21.1% and 3,954,000 viewers, becoming especially popular with younger audiences. The Aída phenomenon transcended television and digital screens to turn into a social phenomenon, with numerous iconic phrases becoming part of everyday Spanish slang. Featuring more than 60 cameos from professional actors, musicians and athletes in its episodes, it earned industry recognition with more than 25 awards, including four Ondas Awards, five Iris Awards from the Spanish Academy of Television and Audiovisual Arts and Sciences and five trophies from the Actors’ Union.

Aída y Vuelta is a production from Laura Fernández Espeso and Javier Méndez, from Globomedia (The Mediapro Studio), and Ghislain Barrois and Álvaro Augustin, from Telecinco Cinema. The film includes the participation of Mediaset España, Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group and Prime Video, a platform it will be available on after its run in Spanish cinemas, distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment Iberia.
