The 22nd edition of Crossing Europe Film Festival in Linz came to a close with an awards ceremony that took place on Saturday, 3 May at Ursulinesaal. This year’s edition, which ran from 29 April to 4 May 4, showcased 142 films of various types and formats from 42 countries, across 12 sections. According to preliminary data, this year’s attendance figure is around 14,500 visitors.

scheda film], winner of last year’s Venice Orizzonti section, headed up the fiction competition according to the jury, consisting of Polish filmmaker Klaudiusz Chrostowski, Romanian actress Anamaria Marinca and Lithuanian programme coordinator Guoda Vaitiekutė from European Film Festival Scanorama. scheda film] by Wannes Destoop. The winners of the main and audience awards scooped €5,000 prize each, provided by Linz Kultur and Land Oberösterrich Kultur, respectively.
The jury of the documentary competition, consisting of Romanian editor Cătălin Cristuţiu, Swedish-Austrian researcher, lecturer and curator Doris Posch, as well as Swiss filmmaker and co-director of the Lugano Human Rights Film Festival Antonio Prata, also selected this year’s winners. The main Crossing Europe Social Awareness Award, along with the €5,000 prize provided by Gutenberg-Werbering and Crossing Europe went to Alessandra Celesia’s The Flats [+leggi anche:
