Written by the director in collaboration with Caroline Deruas Peano and Cristiano Mangione, the script centres on Irène, who lives in a small mountain village. By day, she’s a teacher. By night, she crosses a border and seduces sad men she will never see again. But when she meets Terence, a young man on the run, Irène falls madly in love. She doesn’t know yet that this passion will take her to the confines of a fantastic and disturbing world…
J’oublierai ton nom is produced by Thomas Jacquey for Pan Cinéma, and co-produced by Arte France Cinéma, Venin Films and Swiss outfit Garidi Films. Pre-bought by Ciné+ OCS, Arte and TF1, the feature also benefits from support from the Grand Est region, the Vosges department and Sofica Cinémage, Cinéaxe and Cinéventure. The six weeks of shooting, starting on 2 June, took place in the Vosges, in Île-de-France and in the Valais region of Switzerland. International sales are handled by Kinology and Pan Distribution is in charge of the French cinema release.
