Kersten claimed to have helped thousands of concentration camp prisoners attain freedom during the Nazi era – at least according to his own account. Hedda, however, suspects him of being a mythmaker who has fabricated his deeds in pursuit of the Nobel Peace Prize. What begins as a simple interview soon turns into a tense psychological duel between a man defending his own narrative and a journalist determined to expose the truth. As the conversation intensifies, the announcement of the Nobel Peace Prize winner draws ever closer.
The ensemble cast also features Susanne Wuest (Goodnight Mommy [+leggi anche:

“I Is Another explores the blurred lines between truth and self-mythologising,” commented Beta Cinema. “The story of Himmler’s masseur is as controversial as it is compelling, and Claes Bang brings a powerful presence to this morally complex role.”
Principal photography wrapped on 3 September, with filming taking place in Leipzig, Weimar and Vienna. Beta Cinema will unveil the first footage of I Is Another to international buyers at the upcoming American Film Market (11-16 November).
I Is Another is being produced by Marcel Lenz and Claritta Kratochwil for Germany’s ostlicht filmproduktion in co-production with Veit Heiduschka, Christian Bachmann and Julia Heiduschka, of WEGA Film (Austria), in collaboration with Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, BR and ARTE. It has received support from the MDM, the Austrian Film Institute (ÖFI), the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF), the FFA, the Vienna Film Fund and the Thuringian State Chancellery.
