Unveiled in competition at Cannes, where it picked up the Best Actress Award for Nadia Melliti (in her first film role), The Little Sister was produced by June Films (Julie Billy and Naomi Denamur), and co-produced by Arte France Cinéma and German company Katuh Studio. Handled internationally by mk2, the third feature by director Hafsia Herzi (who is also forging an impressive acting career, including the 2025 César Award among her distinctions) was released in France by Ad Vitam, tallying 395,000 admissions.

Produced by Arnaud Bruttin for Cinq de Trèfle Productions, and by Masa Sawada and Antoine Jouve for Comme des Cinémas, the film was released in France in June by New Story and is being sold by Urban Sales.
