scheda film], the new family drama by Belgian filmmaker Frederike Migom, is set to world-premiere in the Generation Kplus strand of the Berlinale (12–22 February).
Based on the acclaimed novel by Bart Moeyaert, the film follows 13-year-old Bianca, a spirited girl struggling to feel seen within her family. During a sweltering summer day, an unexpected encounter with her favourite actress, Billie King, sparks a journey through imagination, emotional turbulence and self-discovery, pushing Bianca to reclaim her voice and reconnect with her mother.
The cast includes Lisa Vanhemelrijck, Sam De Kerf, Jillia Amadala, Laurence Roothooft, Sachli Gholamalizad and Greg Timmermans. Migom also penned the screenplay, with cinematography by Esmoreit Lutters and music by Freya Arde.
The film is a Belgium–Germany–Netherlands co-production staged by De Mensen, with Cala Film and Juliet at Pupkin, backed by Sallie Gardner & Domm, KiKA, VRT Ketnet, Proximus, the Flemish Audiovisual Fund, the Nederlands Filmfonds, Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung, Hessen Film & Medien, Thüringer Staatskanzlei, Creative Europe and the Gallop Tax Shelter.
LevelK is selling the pic worldwide, whilst its domestic release is planned via Paradiso.
