“The 2026 CPH:FORUM selection tells the story of the times we live in through the lenses of filmmakers who challenge the status quo, take risks and engage in dialogue with the world. We envision this edition not just as a showcase, but also as a vital space where the transformative power of documentary in defending democracy and fostering understanding in these challenging times is revealed once again. We are honoured that this group of filmmakers have entrusted us with their projects,” says Mara Gourd-Mercado, head of Industry & Training.
On 16 March, the industry section will also show selected scenes from five projects in the CPH:ROUGHCUT section, which are aiming for a 2026 release, to more than 200 industry guests, and eight projects from countries of the Eastern Partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) will also be presented on the same day, as part of the CHANGE sidebar.
In addition to years-long collaborations with Sandbox Films, Al Jazeera, Eurimages, Rise And Shine and Unifrance/Titrafilm, two new prizes are being added to the pool, which now exceeds €100,000 in cash and services. ARTE will reward two projects in the form of two consultations with Rough Cut Service totalling a value of €2,500 each, while the Jacob Burns Film Center will grant one project a stipend and residency, including access to editing and post-production facilities totalling approximately €8,500.
