and who recently appeared in Tras el verano).

53 Sundays is a comedy-drama about three siblings who reunite to decide what to do about their 86-year-old father, whose behaviour has recently become erratic. Should they take him to a care home? Should one of them take him in? What begins as a polite family meeting unravels into a situation as funny as it is unexpected, spiralling out of control when a single ill‑chosen word ignites long‑suppressed tensions.

According to Cesc Gay, "I’ve always been very fortunate to work with actors and actresses who elevate my work. Comedy is the most difficult genre, but from the very first rehearsals my fears disappeared when I heard Javier Cámara, Carmen Machi, Javier Gutiérrez and Alexandra Jiménez read the script. During those breakfasts in my apartment in Madrid, we talked, debated, rehearsed, laughed and, between the five of us, shaped this comedy that audiences will soon be able to enjoy at home.”

53 Sundays is produced by Imposible Films for Netflix, with Marta Esteban and Laia Bosch serving as executive producers.
