The upcoming animated feature, Raggie – Friendship Forever (Sipsik – igavene sõprus), is currently in production. Directed by veteran Estonian animator Meelis Arulepp, the film is a sequel to the 2020 family hit Raggie, continuing the adventures of one of Estonia's most beloved literary characters.

The story resumes where the first film left off. Loving rag doll Raggie is kept alive only by Ruby's faith in him. But what would happen if she were to forget about him? As Ruby becomes increasingly distracted by her new school friends, Raggie begins to lose the spark that keeps him alive. Things take a dramatic turn when a classmate, Lily, steals the magical doll in order to have it replicated at a local doll factory. Unable to foresee the consequences of her actions, she inadvertently unleashes a disaster far beyond her control. Ultimately, Lily joins Ruby and her family in a race against time to rescue Raggie from a threatening fate.

Raggie – Friendship Forever marks Arulepp's latest feature film, after he co-directed the original Raggie work alongside Karsten Kiilerich, while Ott Sepp is reprising his role as the voice of the beloved rag doll. A longtime figure in European animation, Arulepp has worked as an animator, storyboard artist, designer and supervising animator since the late 1980s, contributing to more than 30 animated feature films. The screenplay was penned by Mihkel Raud and Kiilerich, with original music composed by Ewert Sundja.

The original Raggie proved to be one of Estonia's most successful animated films, reaching audiences in more than 60 countries despite its theatrical run being cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. Domestically, it attracted more than 107,000 admissions during its first three weeks in cinemas, cementing the enduring popularity of the character created by Eno Raud, illustrated by Edgar Valter, and first introduced in the children's magazine Täheke in 1961. The sequel arrives as the iconic rag doll celebrates its 65th anniversary, reaffirming its status as one of the country's defining cultural icons for children.

An Estonian production, Raggie – Friendship Forever is being produced by Kristel Tõldsepp for A Film Eesti, with backing from the Estonian Film Institute and the Estonian Cultural Endowment. Animation began in early 2026, with completion scheduled ahead of its theatrical release in the second half of 2027. ACME Film will distribute the film in Estonia, while Copenhagen-based international film sales and aggregation house LevelK - who also handled international sales on the original Raggie - are once again in charge of worldwide sales.
