The San Sebastián International Film Festival's Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum, now in its 15th edition, will present the new projects by a group of 15 filmmakers hailing from nine countries. The event will run from 21-23 September, with the feature films being presented by their representatives to potential partners in order to complete financing and facilitate access to international markets. To mark this 15th anniversary, the Best Project Award has been increased to the amount of €30,000.

The Forum will be the ideal setting to unveil new projects by filmmakers who have already competed at the San Sebastián Film Festival, such as Diario inconsciente by Argentina's Santiago Loza (The Lips, Brief Story from the Green Planet, Friends on a Country Road), Giant Stones by Chile's Christopher Murray (The Blind Christ), The Rehearsals by Argentina's Celina Murga (The Third Side of the River, The Freshly Cut Grass), They're Taking Your Congos Away by the Dominican Republic's Nelson Carlo de los Santos Arias (Silver Bear for Best Director at Berlin with Pepe) and Looking for Sam by Venezuela's Mariana Rondón (winner of this festival’s Golden Shell for Best Film for Bad Hair).

Likewise, eight of the projects are first or second features by their directors: Dirty Face by Argentina's Ignacio Acconcia (El niño de fuego), Mourning Sound by Mexico's Selma Cervantes, The Last Cruise by Brazilian producer-turned-director Rachel Daisy Ellis (The Blue Trail), Isabel Hernández by Italian producer (and musician) Giorgio Giampà (Vittoria), This Is the Memory I Would Like To Have of Mom by Mexico's Ernesto Martínez Bucio (a graduate of the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola and winner of the Best Film Award in the Berlinale’s Perspectives section in 2025 with The Devil Smokes [and Saves the Burnt Matches in the Same Box]), The Illusions by Argentina's Ingrid Pokropek (The Major Tones), The Amateurs by her compatriot Felipe Solari Yrigoyen and Modern Mermaids Revolution by Uruguay's Azul Vanni Núñez.

Rounding off the selection are new projects by filmmakers taking part in San Sebastián for the first time: Ash Mother by Chile's Tana Gilbert (who won the Grand Prize in Venice's International Film Critics’ Week with Malqueridas) and Nature Boy by Brazil's Matias Mariani (who screened Shine Your Eyes in the 2020 Berlinale Panorama).

In addition to the prize mentioned above, the projects are also in the running for the following awards: DALE! (Desarrollo América Latina-Europa), presented by the Association of European Film Agencies (EFAD) and the Conference of Ibero-American Audiovisual and Film Authorities (CAACI), endowed with €10,000 for the majority producer of the winning project; the ArteKino International Award, presented by ARTE and consisting of €6,000 gross for the majority producer of the winning project; Casa Wabi-Escine, which includes a five-week artistic residency at Casa Wabi (Puerto Escondido, Mexico) for a first or second feature by a director selected in Ikusmira Berriak or in the Forum; and Tanta, €5,000 gross for the majority production company of the winning project selected in Ikusmira Berriak or in the Forum (open to projects whose narratives contain elements of ecological realism, imagination and creativity to envision sustainable futures).
