Previously awarded the 2026 Jean Vigo Prize (see the news), That’s All Folks by Gustave Kervern has triumphed at the 19th Angoulême Francophone Film Festival, walking away with the Diamond Valois for Best Film. Starring Loïc Mandere, Suzanne Lindon, Léa Drucker and Mathieu Amalric, this feature produced by Les Films du Worso will be released in French cinemas on 24 March next year, courtesy of Pyramide Distribution.

Presided over by Franck Dubosc, the jury also singled out Julien Gaspar-Oliveri’s The Blow. Unveiled in Cannes’ Critics’ Week, this first feature which is due for release in France on 2 September (via Ad Vitam) claimed both the Valois trophy for Best Director as well as Best Actor (Diego Murgia).

Another two films discovered on the Croisette found their way onto the winners’ list: Think Good by Géraldine Nakache (due for release in France on 16 September via Pan Distribution), which reigned supreme in the category of Best Actress (Monia Chokri), and Congo Boy by Rafiki Fariala (hitting French cinemas on 25 November by way of Jour2Fête), which bagged Best Score (composed by the director and Lillo Morealle).

Last but not least, the Valois for Best Screenplay went to the duo composed of Khalil Cherti and Simon Serna for Ce qui nous mène à toi (see the article), which was directed by the former (due for distribution in France on 11 November via Condor), while the Audience Award was nabbed by Hanaël El Yousfi’s feature film debut The Daughters of Abraham (hitting French cinemas on 30 December via Les Films du Losange), which is set to enjoy its international premiere in Toronto’s Discovery section and which also earned itself a Special Mention (courtesy of Mélissa Guers, Ava Baya and Gabrielle Cohen) in Angoulême’s Best Actress category.
