The TV Beats Forum, the drama series-focused strand of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, returns from 16-17 November with ten projects selected for its sixth TV Beats Co-Financing Market. Hailing from ten European countries, the projects span genres and territories, bringing together emerging creators and established production companies. They are all deemed to have strong international co-production, sales and distribution potential.

The selection reflects TV Beats’ position at the intersection of the Baltic, Nordic, and Central and Eastern European production communities, while also reaching further into Western and Southern Europe. According to TV Beats Forum co-heads Petri Kemppinen and Roosa Toivonen, the Czech Republic, Estonia and Finland were the three countries with the highest number of submissions this year, while the final selection also includes projects from Ireland, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Lithuania and Iceland. “This year’s selection reflects the diversity of stories being developed in our core region and beyond,” said Kemppinen, while Toivonen highlighted the resilience of producers in the Baltics and the region’s role as a bridge between the Nordics, and Central and Eastern Europe.

The ten projects will compete for the Council of Europe Series Co-Production Development Award, worth €50,000. The non-reimbursable grant, part of the Council of Europe’s Pilot Programme for series co-productions, is open to independent producers from Eurimages member states and is intended to foster creative collaborations in European series production. In addition, TV Beats’ long-term collaborator MIDPOINT Institute will present its MIDPOINT Series Consulting Award to one of the selected projects.

This year’s line-up also includes several established European filmmakers and producers. Poland’s Dariusz Jabłoński, the director of Fortel, is a veteran of Polish film and television, while Estonia’s Aet Laigu produces Stormbird, directed by Kadri Kõusaar (The Arbiter, Mother). Finland’s The Woman Who Roared comes from actor-director Pamela Tola (Ladies of Steel, Bad Apples), while Czech filmmaker Jiří Havelka (Owners) directs Intimacy on Prescription. Kalmann, meanwhile, is directed by Kristofer Dignus and adapted from Joachim B Schmidt’s bestselling novel.

Estonia is also represented by Breaking the Ice, produced by Jevgeni Supin, who received a TV Beats Producer Award in 2025. The series is co-created by screenwriter Leana Jalukse, whose credits include Mother and Fire Lily. Belgium is represented by Kristoffel Mertens and Antwerp-based Panenka with The Inheritance, a psychological thriller set against the worlds of animal welfare and hunting. Spain’s When Devils Rule, directed by Rodrigo Susarte and produced by Nano Arrieta and Claudia Ruiz, adapts Manuel Mujica Lainez’s literary classic into a dark fantasy series following the seven Princes of Hell.
