Shake the Devil Off honoured at Nashville
Shake the Devil Off by Swiss director Peter Entell (produced by Show and Tell Film) has won the Best Documentary Award at the 39th Nashville Film Festival (April 17-24). The film recounts the closing of a parish in New Orleans and was shot a year after the impact of Hurricane Katrina.
Unveiled at the Locarno Film Festival and selected at Amsterdam in 2007, the film also scooped the Best Editing Award at the 10th International Documentary Film Festival in Montreal, where it had its international premiere.
In May, the film will screen in competition at the Munich International Documentary Festival (May 1-8) and will be presented at the International Public Television Conference Input TV, which is being held this year in Johannesburg (May 4-10).
Shake the Devil Off will be released on May 14 in French-speaking Switzerland and on May 22 in German-speaking Switzerland.
