Isabel Coixet and Icíar Bollaín receive ICAA support for the production of their new films
- The provisional 2019 list of general production support for film projects has just been made public; Coixet’s Nieva en Benidorm and Bollaín’s La boda de Rosa are two of the recipients
A few days ago, Spain’s ICAA – Film and Audiovisual Arts Institute (Ministry of Sport and Culture) published the list of titles that will be in receipt of its selective support (see the news). This week, it made public the similarly provisional list – pending appeals (which can be submitted until 22 October) – of the beneficiaries of general, non-genre-specific support, provided by the Film Protection Fund corresponding to the 2019 tax year. Standing out among the projects that will be in receipt of €1 million are La boda de Rosa, which is being directed by Icíar Bollaín (see the news), and Nieva en Benidorm (El tercer deseo Films AIE), the upcoming movie by Isabel Coixet, who actually has two projects on the go, as she is also making progress with La contadora de películas (Contadora Films AIE), with a screenplay she co-penned together with Rafa Russo and Brazil’s Walter Salles.
The same amount goes to La abuela (La abuela apache AIE) by Paco Plaza, the screenplay for which was written by Carlos Vermut; Way Down (El tesoro de Drake AIE), a heist film by Jaume Balagueró (see the news); El sustituto (Isaba Producciones Cinematográficas AIE) by Óscar Aibar; La mujer perfecta (The Snake Films AIE) by Arantxa Echevarría; Explota mi corazón (El Sustituto Producciones AIE) by Ignacio Álvarez Matos; Pan de limón con semillas de amapola by Benito Zambrano and Donde caben dos by Paco Caballero Domínguez (both staged by Castelao Producciones); Sentimental (Sentimentalfilm AIE) by Francisco Paula Gay; Mediterráneo (Arcadia Motion Pictures) by Marcel Barrena; Todas las lunas (Ilargia Films AIE) by Igor Legarreta; and Padre no hay más que uno 2 (Mamá se fue de viaje La película, AIE), which will once again star and be directed by Santiago Segura, following the success of the first instalment, Padre no hay más que uno [+see also:
