The third edition of the FICX Industry Days, which will unspool during the 57th Gijón International Film Festival, has unveiled its programme. Thanks to the support of Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), via its Programme for the Internationalisation of Spanish Culture (PICE), the festival is scheduling a round-table focusing on the policies and politics of premiering and circulating films at festivals (which will see the participation of Karlovy Vary International Film Festival programmer Martin Horyna, coordinator of the short films selection in the Cannes Critics’ Week and IFFR programmer Leo Soesanto, and Festival Scope project manager Egle Cepaite) and another that will home in on the models of cooperation and professional networks established between film festivals.

A number of in-depth talks, organised in cooperation with the Creative Europe/MEDIA Desk in Madrid, Latido Films and ICAA – Ministry of Culture and Sport, will outline the value of the Creative Europe programme and sales agents as internationalisation mechanisms, and examine the main sources of public production support, respectively. In addition, Agustina Lumi, from Argentina’s INCAA (National Film and Audiovisual Arts Institute), will lead a workshop on the tools and strategies that can be utilised to generate new audiences, using the CINE.AR platform as a case study; plus, The Screen’s La Incubadora, the ECAM’s development programme for features, and European Film Promotion’s Future Frames programme will be presented at the event.

As for the Push Play Work-in-Progress section, this year, it will showcase six projects at the pre-editing, editing or post-production stage, which include the new and eagerly awaited opuses by Catalan directors Meritxell Colell (following her successful feature debut, Facing the Wind [+see also:
