The first workshop of the MIDPOINT Institute’s MIDPOINT Shorts programme is already running, having started on 18 October, and it will wrap on Friday 22nd. This comes after the (online) preparatory-day kick-off workshop that was held from 29 September-1 October, during which the participants obtained initial feedback on the projects and met their colleagues and tutors.

After the end of the workshop, the participants behind the five selected projects, who hail from the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Lebanon, Slovakia, Ukraine and the UK, will continue to work on their projects further with the script-consultant tutor and MIDPOINT Shorts head of studies, Czech script consultant and director Pavel Marek, and Lithuanian producer and short-film expert Marija Razgute.

The next and final workshop will bring the participants to Trieste in January 2022 to present their projects as part of the When East Meets West Co-production Forum and network further with film-industry experts.
