Written by Lola Doillon, the story of this romantic comedy set against the backdrop of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) revolves around Kati, a brilliant 35-year-old researcher who has a unique way of experiencing her relationships, which are all more or less chaotic. Her participation in a new television report finally helps her to put her difference into words, but this revelation turns her already complicated life upside down.
Different is produced by Dominique Guérin on behalf of Ping & Pong Productions and by Nicolas Blanc for Agat Films, and has been pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+. Likewise supported by the Pays de la Loire region, the feature film will be shot over a six-week period (mostly in Nantes), ending this month, with Pierre Milon heading up cinematography. The film’s release in French cinemas will be steered by Memento Distribution while international sales are in the hands of Be For Film.
