Initiated by the professional online platform Coprocity (read our interview) which works in partnership with 19 co-production markets, the Coprocity Development Prize, which crowned Maura Delpero and Frida Kempff its victors in 2022 (news) thanks to Vermiglio, the Mountain Bride [+lee también:

respectively, and Manuela Martelli last year thanks to The Meltdown (news), will be coveted by 10 projects this year, nine of which are works of fiction and one a documentary.

Standing tall in this selection of young talent are the 3rd fiction feature film projects coming courtesy of the Bulgarian duo Mina Mileva and Vesela Kazakova - who were unearthed in competition in Locarno in 2019 by way of Cat in the Wall [+lee también:

and who were selected for Cannes’ Un Certain Regard section in 2021 thanks to Women Do Cry [+lee también:

– and Finnish director Selma Vilhunen (awarded the Generation 14Plus Crystal Bear in Berlin 2019 thanks to Stupid Young Heart [+lee también:

Equally noteworthy are the second feature films projects put forth by Poland’s Aga Woszczyńska (who competed in Toronto’s Platform line-up in 2023 with Silent Land [+lee también:

), Lithuania’s Irma Pužauskaitė (acclaimed in Tallin, Lecce and Cottbus in 2022 via The 9th Step [+lee también:

) and Greece’s Asimina Proedrou (her country’s candidate at the Oscars last year, wielding Behind the Haystacks [+lee también:

The 10 projects in the running for the Coprocity Development Prize (endowed with 3,500 euros) will be assessed by a jury composed of international sales agent Lucies Desquiens (Charades), Italian producer Alessandro Amato (Dispàrte) and the author of this article. The name of the winning project will be unveiled in the Co-Production Village unspooling 14 – 17 December within the Les Arcs Film Festival.
