Wild Filmmaker part pour le Marché du Film de Cannes avec Comedy of the Moon

Cet article est disponible en anglais.

“When the Little Prince within us meets the history of cinema!” This sentence perfectly sums up the essence of Comedy of the Moon, a film written, directed and illustrated by Michele Diomà, combining animation and documentary filmmaking with the aim of telling children primarily, and then adults, about some of the greatest personalities in the history of cinema through a fairy tale (see the news). Wild Filmmaker, the company behind the film, will attend Cannes’ Marché du Film to start sales.

Comedy of the Moon is a poetic and dreamlike journey whose heroes are Federico Fellini, Georges Méliès, Jean Vigo, François Truffaut, Mario Bava, David Lynch, Agnès Varda, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Stanley Kubrick, Orson Welles, Akira Kurosawa, Ingmar Bergman and many other figures who shaped the aesthetics of the seventh art during the last century. The protagonist of Comedy of the Moon is a cinephile Wild Cat dressed as a Native American, who travels aboard a flying tricycle to imaginary planets inhabited by his cinematic heroes. The animation and editing of Comedy of the Moon are by Lorenzo Scibilia.
